Have a look at this movie, filmed by ice divers from finland: "Fishing under ice" Nice playing with unusual perspectives and setups. The wheelbarrow was saved from the bottom of the lake and according to the film makers, the divers had a lot of fun while filming :) Enjoy!

Sharks are more valuable alive, than dead

In Palau, a shark is worth about 2 million dollars. But only, if it is alive and healthy and divers can marvel at it under the sea…
Australian scientists found out, that sharks are much more valuable when they are living underwater tourist attractions, than compared to the price their meat would get, if the sharks would be caught, killed and sold.
Mark Meekan, main author of the scientific survey hopes, that the analysis helps building up a "shark economy", based on tourism, instead of killing and eating them.
Palau was the first country, that declared all its territorial waters as shark sanctuary - followed by Honduras and the Maldives.

Wanted: Underwater photographers

If you have beautiful photos of underwater life, it would be nice to add them to our library. Even if there is already one of according species, every animal can have multiple pictures and yours can still become main picture!

If many members click on it, it will become the representant of this animal in all dives and list displays.

And: You can also link your uploaded pictures to your webpage and thereby show all members more of your underwater photography skills.
